James Evans Postcard Collection
Scope and Contents
This collections contains 638 postcards documenting life in Wilmington, Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach, Fort Fisher, and locations in Pender and Brunswick Counties. Imagery includes major attractions, institutions, streets, and scenes of daily life in these areas. Most postcards are undated, though in some cases, a circa date is used to identify when the postcard was postmarked. Additionally, this collection contains postcards that represent many eras in postcard history including the Undivided Back Period, the Divided Back Period, the White Boarder Period, the Linen Period, and the Photogchrom Period.

- Creation: 1876-2005; bulk of material is postmarked between 1900-1970 or is undated.
