This collection contains the galley, with artist's handwritten corrections for A Balkan Sketchbook by Claude Howell and fifteen (15) leaves (30 sketches) of the original sketches. The book was published as a first and only edition in December 1977. The edition was limited to 500 signed and numbered copies.

This collection contains two copies of "Abstract of Votes Cast At An Election Held For Governor And State Officers, On Tuesday, November 2, 1880, In The State Of North Carolina". The reverse side of the abstracts contain information regarding the "Comparative Vote of North Carolina for 1876 and 1889. Including the Vote for Members of Congress at the Late Election". The copies were certified by the Board of State Canvassers on November 27, 1880.
Alice Morriss Fechtig Post Card Collection
This collection contains several albums of postcards, loose postcards, photographs, and two bound copies of letters and cables written by Alice Fechtig to her father during her European tour, June 6 - September 16, 1929. Many of the postcards in the collection are in color and include major European tourist attractions. Other countries included in the collection are the United States, the Caribbean islands, Russia, and Japan.

This collection contains the papers of Congressman Alton Lennon during his tenure as U.S. Representative for North Carolina's 7th congressional district from 1957-1972. Included in the collection is correspondence, reports, and other documents related to legislation, district affairs, and politics during the time. Also included are three large scrapbooks documenting news coverage from Congressman Lennon's career and campaigns.

Anna Parsley Love Letter
A letter dated October 26, 1910, from Agnes MacRae Parsley to her daughter, Anna Parsley Love, notes the preparations made for moving into town from Masonboro Sound, a summer residence. It illustrates the housekeeping preparation for such a move for a family of comfortable means, and social interaction in an informal manner.
Anna Sherman Collection
This collection of original and photocopied items is comprised of correspondence and newspaper clippings encompassing nearly 100 years, from 1849 to 1938. Especially of note is the correspondence dating from the time of the U.S. Civil War 1861- 1865. The letters paint a poignant image of life in the confederacy.
