Abstract

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church was founded in Wilmington, North Carolina by Rt. Rev. Thomas Atkinson, bishop of the diocese of North Carolina in 1858. This collection contains documents, ephemera, minutes, pamphlets, photographs, publications and record books pertaining to the history and operations of the church.

This collection contains material belonging to St. Stephen AME Church in Wilmington, Norht Carolina, including one oversize poster of the officers of the church in 1896, eight record ledgers, souvenir booklets and newsletters, a photo of the church's interior, a 104-year-old program, and construction funding paperwork.

The early handwritten letters, from 1905 to 1907, are primarily from Cooper to his wife, Jane Collins, written while Cooper was working in Mullins, South Carolina.
