This collection contains 46 manuscripts, letters, and documents dating from 1811-1864, relating to the Kellogg family in Wilmington, N.C. Included are inventories of personal effects and papers from 1826 concerning Jos. Kellogg's death.

McGuire Collection of Letters from Black Soldiers
This collection is comprised of 109 photocopies of letters from black soldiers during World War II. They were used in Dr. Phillip McGuire’s book, Taps for a Jim Crow Army, published in 1983.
Poisson Family Collection
This collection contains personal letters to and from various Poisson and Cutlar family members--including Frederick, a merchant in London, Louis, a local Wilmington real estate agent, as well as from DuBrutz Cutlar, Jr. and Sr., both Wilmington lawyers. Additional materials include two photographs and three invitations.
Richard Laracy Letter
This collection consists of a letter dated 1914, written by Richard Laracy, veteran, recounting his Civil War experiences to a friend. The letter outlines Laracy's experience at the Battle at Gettysburg. He was a Union soldier in Culter's 1st Division, 1st Corps. Included are the original letter and a photocopy.
