Scope and Contents Contains correspondence and offiical vestry documentation related to the Church of the Good Shepherd and the intended conveyance of funds and property rights to the church via the Diocese of East Carolina. The Church of the Good Shepherd was originated and built by St. James Parish as its south side mission, the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, in 1892 at Queen and Sixth Streets in downtown Wilmington. Its function expanded for the next fifteeen years, eventually becoming its own parish in 1907....

Contains partial inventories of the St. James archives, as well as collection loan information with the then Wilmington-New Hanover Museum (now the Cape Fear Museum) and UNC Wilmington's Randall Library Special Collections. A letter regardinig a book donation to the church library is also included.

This sub-series contains material related to the day-to-day functions of the parish, such as operating costs, membership tracking, event recaps, and general updates on parish happenings, gathered in the regular minutes of the vestry. Pre-1950s records are in bound ledgers; later minutes are loose pages originally in binders or individual meeting summaries.
