Scope and Contents From the Collection:

This collection consists of a letter dated 1914, written by Richard Laracy, veteran, recounting his Civil War experiences to a friend. The letter outlines Laracy's experience at the Battle at Gettysburg. He was a Union soldier in Culter's 1st Division, 1st Corps. Included are the original letter and a photocopy.

Scope and Contents

This crayon sketch on paper [9"x11 3/4"] is of three images of males heads: a profile and back side view of an adult, and a profile of an adolescent. It is initialed by the artist; the date is on a corner that has been broken off and may be '68 or '69. The word "studies" has been penciled at the bottom of the paper.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: This collection contains letters from John F. Schrank, who in 1912 attempted to assassinate President Theodore Roosevelt, to his doctor, Dr. Adin Sherman, during 1914-1918 when Schrank was committed to the Central State Hospital for the Criminally Insane in Waupun, Wisconsin. Schrank's letters contain his gratitude for and desire to maintain his friendship with Dr. Sherman, his commentary on World War I, and general observations and relevations on the current status of his life.
