Scope and Contents
The collection includes correspondence, minutes, legislation, reports, and publications about the National Federation of the Blind (NFB), which began in 1940, and the American Council of the Blind (ACB) which split from the NFB to become a separate organization in 1961. The Braille Forum Journal is shelved with the collection. It contains journals from 1962-2004 and is not a complete set.

Abstract
Dr. James Megivern, former professor of philosophy and religion at UNCW received this collection from the archives of the American Council of the Blind (ACB) and used the materials to compile a history of the organization. He and his wife Majorie Megivern published this organizational history titled, People of Vision: A History of the American Council of the Blind, in 2003.
