Scope and Contents
Contains United States Marine Corps photographs from World War II documenting United States involvement in the pacific. Primarily includes photographs of various Japanese cities in the aftermath of the atomic bombs, Marine Corp occupation of pacific islands, and the War Criminal Tribunal of the Far East.

Biographical / Historical
The main areas included in most of the Marines in the Pacific Theater photographs are Saipan, Tinian, and Guam. The atomic bomb destruction photos are from Nagasaki. Most of the photos are of the interactions between Marines and civilians displaced by the fighting, as well as Japanese P.O.W.'s.
