Biographical Note

Dr. David Gregory Lindquist was the first professor hired to teach ichthyology at The University of North Carolina Wilmington and he played a significant role in the growth of the program over the years. During his career Lindquist served on the Marine Technology Advisory Committee and was the director of the Larval Fish Laboratory at the Center of Marine Science at UNCW.    Lindquist published three books and over ninety articles  and was an avid researcher.  Some of his major projects included the studying of blennies, researching endemic fishes at Lake Waccamaw, North Carolina and studying at Onslow Bay, North Carolina.
