Scope and Contents

This collection documents Pam Toll's work with Acme Studios and as a working artist in the community. Included are personal correspondence, event announcements, certificates, planning and promotional materials for exhibits, news articles and cards. The majority of the material dates from the early 1980s to the early 2000s. Noteable projects represented in the collection include Toll's work with No Boundaries (inspiration for), Paint a Future and Acme Art Studios.

Biographical Note

Pamela Wallace Toll graduated with English and Art degrees from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. She received her Master of Fine Arts in Painting from East Carolina University. Toll co-founded Acme Art Studios in 1991 and the No Boundaries International Art Colony in 1998. In 2005, her artwork was accepted in the University of North Carolina Wilmington's literary journal, Ecotone, and in 2009 she was nominated for a United States Artists Fellowship. Toll's work can be found in collections in countries across the world including Italy, Turkey, Macedonia and Spain. Her style of art is abstract and driven by real and imagined stories. Toll currently works as an Associate Professor of Art in the Art and Art History Department at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
