Photographs, 1909-2006, undated

 Series

Scope and Contents

The Photographs series contains mostly pictures taken by Patricia of her family, including Carroll and Berton III as children, while in Hawaii, on the main land, or abroad internationally. A large focus are on Berton's service during WWII and related military events. Later photographs of Carroll as an adult and once married to Wilbur are also prominent. Most notably, Patricia's photos of Pearl Harbor during and just after the attack depict both the horror and human resilience of the tragedy. Many photographs contain handwritten notes on the back identifying who, where, and/or when they were taken.
