Of note is correspondence discussing Yow's appointment and later re-election to the position of County Attorney for New Hanover County, his application for attorney with the United States Treasury Department, and Alton Lennon's U.S. Senate campaign against former Governor Kerr Scott. Notable correspondents include Judge John J. Burney, Judge Clifton L. Moore of the Eighth Judicial District, Rabbi Samuel A. Friedman, Champion Davis, Colonel Charles P. Green, Captain Thomas F. Darden Jr., Captain Robert B. Adams (known affectionately and referred to as Arboo, and wife Mildred Davis Adams as Nannie), and Gene Simmons.
