Biographical Note

Reverend M. Bethel Judd was born in 1776 in Connecticut and was ordained in the Protestant Episcopal Church in 1798. He married Margaret Heron in 1913, and they'd go on to have seven children. He preached in congregations around the Northeast until becoming rector of St. James in the Fall of 1815, only serving until April 1816. After his time there, he continued to preach and teach at various congregations and schools, before settling in New York around 1837. His wife, Margaret, had died from consumption in 1828. Judd followed in 1858 and is buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Connecticut.
