Also includes several reprints of a newspaper article printed in The Wilmington Star (October 29, 1898) "A Horrid Slander," which was a response to Alexander Manly's article "Mrs. Felton's Speech," in the Morning Star. This article contributed to the events of the 1898 Wilmington Coup d'état.
