Biography

Frank Powolny was as an Austrian-born photographer for 20th Century Fox from 1923 to 1966. Powolny was best known for his 1943 photo of pin-up Betty Grable in a bathing suit, which became iconic and the most famous of the WWII time period. Powolny took the last known photographs of Marilyn Monroe on the set of "Something's Got to Give" a week before her death in 1962.
