Biography

Ogden Olmstead (O.O. "Red") Allsbrook was born in Horry County, South Carolina on September 12, 1899, the son of Joseph Ross and Martha Reaves Allsbrook.

Allsbrook attended Wake Forest University before moving to Wilmington in 1921, where he became associated in the milk and ice cream business. He was active in both civic and community affairs in Wilmington and was elected Mayor of the City of Wilmington in 1961, serving until 1970. He was a member of the Wilmington Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Cape Fear Club. He was also a board member of the National Board of the United States Navy League, the YMCA, the North Carolina National Bank, and served on the Board of Trustees for Wake Forest University. Allsbrook attended First Baptist Church.

He married Elizabeth Warren and had two children. Allsbrook died on February 2, 1974 and is buried in Oakdale Cemetery.
