Biography

Dr. Andrew Clark was born in Camden, New Jersey. He graduated from Columbia University in 1976 and served in the Peace Corps in Senegal for three years. Clark received his Masters degree from Ohio University and his PhD from Michigan State University. He served as a faculty member in the History department at the University of North Carolina Wilmington for 21 years. Clark died on January 2, 2011.

Scope and Contents

This collection contains 13 photographs from Andrew Clark’s research abroad in Africa, specifically Ghana, Senegal, and Guinea. Photos are of him with locals as well as the landscape and architecture in the three countries. Also included in this collection are original, color illustrated art pieces of two different castles in Ghana and a CD of traditional Senegalese music.
